A senior Bangladeshi expatriate and an Economist by profession, Mr. Abdul Quader, a long-time resident of Canberra who passed away on 30 June 2019. This week's program was produced and presented by Sadequr Rahman. The beautiful songs presented in the program 'ei shundor phool, shundor phol' and 'esho, esho amar ghorey esho' were sung by Bangladeshi singers Rashida Khan Banu and Mita Haque. Kamrul Ahsan, (3) upcoming CD launch function in Canberra on 9th August - 'ei lovino shongo tobo' - by Canberra Rabindra Shangeet singer and Bangla Radio presenter Ms. This week's program presented: (1) report of the AGM of Bangladesh Australia Association Canberra held on 27 July, (2) upcoming Bangladesh Environment Network (BEN) Australia seminar in Canberra on 2nd August to commemorate its tenth anniversary - interview with BEN Australia Convenor Mr. This week's program was produced and presented by Ehsan Ullah. It played two songs - 'shono ek ti Mujiborer' and 'prothom Bangladesh' - that relives independence in our heart from both ends of the spectrum. The selected recordings are: (i) address by the Chief Guest His Excellency High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Australia Mr Ashraf-ud-Doula on the occasion, and announcement of the outcome of Australian Immigration Minister's recent visit to Bangladesh that resulted in bilateral agreements on visa, immigration and student exchange programs (ii) voices of two great leaders of Bangladesh's independence movement that united the whole nation in liberation war, and (iii) the realisation, understanding and vision of Bangladesh's independence by the new generation. This week's program presented recording from Bangladesh Australia Association Canberra's function commemorating the Independence Day of Bangladesh on 26 March 2006 held in the Theo Notaras Multicultural Centre in Canberra City.
